Sean focuses on Internet & mobile investing. He represents Point Judith on the boards of Multiply, Sittercity and was previously on the board of Optasite (acq. by SBA Communications). Sean has been an early stage venture capital investor in the Internet & mobile industries for over a decade and during this time, the companies he has backed have achieved over $1 billion in value through multiple IPO and M&A events.
Prior to joining Point Judith as a General Partner, Sean worked with the firm on behalf of Village Ventures which was a founding partner in Point Judith. He has been an investor and board member in such leading companies as Andover.net (IPO, later acq. by VA Software), Handmark, Medical Metrx Solutions (acq. by AIG), and Tower Ventures (acq. by American Tower).
Prior to Village Ventures, Sean was with TSG Equity Partners, LLC, a Massachusetts private equity firm formed by a Special Partner of the Thomas H. Lee Company. As the Vice President, he was one of three partners making early stage venture capital investments in consumer products, media, Internet software, technology and wireless communications. Prior to TSG Equity Partners, Sean worked in the Investment Banking Group of Prudential Securities Incorporated, where he was involved with the structuring, analysis, due diligence, and closing of over $1.4 billion in mergers, public and private equity, and debt offerings for consumer products, energy, media, and wireless communications companies.
Sean graduated from Bowdoin College with a BA in Economics. Sean is also a member of the Bowdoin College Board of Trustees Technology Advisory Committee which provides the CIO input on technology strategy and procurement. |
