Jeff Weiss Venture Partner  Jeff has been a founder of and held various technical and management roles in a number of hardware and communications companies.Jeff was VP Engineering of Digital LightCircuits which researched photonic switching devices at Brown University, co-founder and CTO of Omnia Communications (acquired by Ciena in 1999), and later served as VP of Systems Architecture for Ciena. Other companies he has been involved with include Codex Corporation, Sphere Technology, Cryptall Communications, Magnalink Communications, and Telco Systems. Additionally, Jeff has been issued a number of patents pertaining to data encryption, data compression, switching systems, and parallel computer processing. Earlier in his career, Jeff was an engineer at Bendix Corporation and IBM's Thomas Watson Research Center. He received a B.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an M.S. from Columbia University. Currently Jeff serves as a member of the Curriculum Advisory Committee at Brown University Electrical Engineering, an MIT Educational Counselor, and Chair of the Lincoln RI School Committee. |
